Next Generation Science Standards- NGSS

NGSS Standards

On September 4, 2013, the SBE adopted the Next Generation Science Standards for California Public Schools, Kindergarten through Grade Twelve (CA NGSS) as required by California Education Code 60605.85. There were appendices that were also adopted to assist teachers and districts in the implementation of the new science standards and to aid in the development of the new science curriculum framework.

Currently, Alhambra Unified is working with U.C.L.A. for a comprehensive training to assist teachers understand the standards, begin with a phenomenon and build interactive, hands on science lessons.  For more information on the professional development our teachers are receiving with U.C.L.A., please visit: https://centerx.gseis.ucla.edu/science-project/.
