School Site Council

  • By California Education Code, the School Site Council is required to:
    • Measure the effectiveness of improvement strategies at the school.
    • Seek input from school advisory committees.
    • Reaffirm or revise school goals.
    • Revise improvement strategies and expenditures.
    • Recommend the approved single plan for student achievement (SPSA) to the governing board.
    • Monitor implementation of the SPSA.
  • Our School Site Council is comprised of 10 members:
    • 5 parents/guardians/caregivers and 5 school staff - including the principal, 1 non-teaching member, and 3 teachers. 
  • All members, except the principal (or their designee who fills the principal's spot in their absence), are elected to serve on SSC for a 2-year term.

  • All SSC Meetings for 2025-2026 are hosted as a hybrid Zoom meeting (unless otherwise noted) on Wednesday afternoons at 1:45 pm at the following Zoom link: zoom.us/my/highlands
  • In-person attendees are welcomed to check-in at the school office and join the meeting in the Principal's Conference Room.
